Operational guidelines for the assessment of English language skills
According to the Teaching Regulations of the Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering (cf. Art. 4 - Admission requirements and knowledge required for admission to the course), the personal preparation of the student includes, among other things, the documented ability to use correctly, both orally and in writing, at least one language of the European Union other than Italian, with reference also to disciplinary dictionaries.
In particular, since the Master's degree requires students to be fluent in a language of the European Union other than Italian, the regulations stipulate that students who do not have a certificate of knowledge of a language of the European Union at least at B2 level must spend at least 3 of the 12 ECTS provided for training activities in the form of additional language knowledge. The 3 ECTS are not awarded a grade, but only an aptitude.
The following should be noted:
- Students who are already in possession of an English language certificate at level B2 (CEFR), obtained at an accredited centre outside the University, may request the recognition of 3 ECTS of additional language knowledge by sending the above-mentioned certificate to the Course Secretariat at the following e-mail address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
- Students who do not yet have a certificate can obtain one by taking the Level B2 Placement Test organised by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA) to assess their language skills. The test schedule is published on https://www.cla.unina.it/placement_test. After the test, the CLA will communicate the results to the CoS Coordinator for the recognition of the 3 CFU of additional language knowledge. Students who do not pass the placement test can follow an online improvement course for level B2 organised by the CLA (https://www.cla.unina.it/bacheca) and then take the test again.
